When sending attachments or posting to websites, you need to save in a standard format such as .pdf's. This is most common when posting Word or powerpoint files. (for the history of "Portable Document Format" go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pdf

To make a PDF from any program:
  1. • press Apple-P (for print)
  2. • don't send it to a printer...
  3. • choose "Save as PDF..." from the PDF button on the bottom left of the print dialog box
  4. • name it - get rid of anything after the dot except for "pdf"
  5. • save it where you want
  6. • send that sucker
File--> Print

Choose "Save as PDF..."

Rename if neccessary, add .pdf
